  • Patent number: 11679009
Abstract: An orthosis or prosthesis system comprising at least one orthosis or prosthesis, at least one pair of electrodes for contacting the body of the user of the orthosis or prosthesis in order to capture muscle-related signals, at least one evaluation unit for muscle-related signals captured by the at least one electrode pair, at least one actuator for moving the at least one orthosis or prosthesis, and at least one control unit for controlling the at least one actuator. The at least one electrode pair is designed to capture at least a first muscle-related signal using a first measurement frequency and a second muscle-related signal using a second measurement frequency. The at least one evaluation unit evaluates a phase of the first signal and a phase of the second signal. The muscle-related signals can be bioimpedance signals. The system makes it possible to distinguish between muscle contractions and interfering signals.

  • Patent number: 5140519
Abstract: A method of monitoring patient data generates an optimal overview. The patient data is sensed by appropriate sensors and displayed as parameter values assigned to individual organ systems. A data field contains a plurality of parameter values and overview graphic images referring to organ systems are formed from this data field with the aid of a network switch and are displayed in response to a retrieval command.

  • Patent number: 4825860
Abstract: A device for supplying anesthetic dispensing systems with liquid anesthetics from one or more storage vessels is, for the purpose of easy exchange of different storage vessels containing different anesthetics, includes a module defining a receiving cavity which can be connected with the anesthetic dispensing system via an anesthetic infeed and can also be connected to a selected bottle or container.

  • Patent number: 4715370
Abstract: An overflow trap on a reservoir for liquid anesthetics with at least one inlet conduit for filling and an overflow conduit for overflow which both open at its side wall. The entering of anesthetic liquid from a feed tank through the inlet and the overflow of anesthetic due to shifts or rocking of the liquid level is prevented. For this purpose, the inlet conduit and the overflow conduit are slanted toward the bottom of the reservoir and they have openings close to a wall of the reservoir which is opposite to the inlet and the overflow openings of the conduits.

  • Patent number: 4693853
Abstract: An anesthetic vaporizer with a vaporizer chamber into which leads a gas inlet channel for fresh gas and which is connected via an outlet channel with a proportioning unit containing setting means for the anesthetic concentration to be released to the fresh gas is to be improved in such a way that exchanging the various anesthetics is made possible to only a single proportioning unit. The vaporizer chamber is a self-enclosed housing part to be coupled to the proportioning unit via connectors and the setting means are adjustable to the release of the respective anesthetic used.

  • Patent number: 4625779
Abstract: A receiving arrangement is disclosed for filling an anaesthetic medium from a supply vessel into the charging chamber of an anaesthetic apparatus. The supply vessel is connectable to the arrangement by means of a coupling piece. The arrangement includes a receiving structure having an input opening for receiving the coupling piece therein and a connecting part disposed adjacent the receiving structure. The connecting part includes channels communicating with the charging chamber for conducting the anaesthetic medium to the latter. A closure piece is slidably mounted in the receiving structure to slide between a first position opposite the ports and a second position whereat the closure piece is displaced away from the ports. A resilient biasing spring biases the closure piece into the first position.

  • Patent number: 4611590
Abstract: The invention is directed to an arrangement for adding liquid anesthetic medium to the respiratory gas to be directed to a patient and is applicable to a closed respiratory system wherein an adequate quantity of the anesthetic medium must be supplied in a small respiratory gas volume and is also applicable to an open system wherein large quantities of anesthetic medium are required. The arrangement of the invention includes a plurality of tanks containing anesthetic mediums and a selection switch which can be selectively switched to any one of the tanks. A pump is located after the selection switch and a change-over switch permits switching the anesthetic medium from the pump to an anesthetic medium vaporizer and a swirl chamber. The anesthetic medium is vaporized in the vaporizer and then conducted at high concentration into the respiratory gas directed to the patient. The gas can be guided in a closed system.
