  • Patent number: 6217042
Abstract: A golf travel case includes first and second housings each having a club mounting wall surrounded at its periphery by a side wall and including an open side through which golf club retainers are accessible. A spacer is pivotally connected along opposite edges to the first and second housings to permit movement to a closed position with the open sides facing one another, the free edges of the sides walls interlocking and the spacer abutting the side walls. In the closed position of the case, the clubs are protected during travel and storage. Each of the housings can be independently pivoted relative to the spacer through an arc of more than 180° to an open position of the case for playing golf.
