In some applications, the downhole component comprises a stabilizer having a plurality of blades extending outwardly from a body, e.g. sleeve. Examples of such features comprise uniquely shaped surfaces; materials with a desired hardness, toughness, and impact strength; and/or wear protection elements incorporated into the downhole component.
