  • Patent number: 5382099
Abstract: A bearing unit consists of a radial bearing 1 and an axial bearing 2, the outer ring 3 of the radial bearing 1 being extended at one end in the axial direction to hold the axial bearing 2.So that the bearing unit is able to absorb large radial and axial forces and is reliably sealed off against contamination from the outside, the outer ring 3 of the radial bearing 1 consists of a solid piece of material, and the extension 3.sup.a of the outer ring 3 is provided, starting from the end surface 4, with a bore 4.sup.a to hold the axial bearing 2, this bore being sealed by a bearing housing cover 6, which rests against the end surface 2.sup.a of the axial bearing 2 and is connected to the outer ring 3.

  • Patent number: 5199800
Abstract: Bearing bushing for universal joints, made of thin plate and consisting of a cylindrical sleeve and a bottom wall formed internally with the sleeve. The bottom of the bearing bushing is flat near its outer edge and is provided with several stamped areas distributed around the periphery to form crimps. The lateral surfaces of these crimps 17 preferably forming an acute angle alpha. The diameter D of the circle surrounding the outer surfaces is approximately equal to the diameter D of the lateral surface of the cylindrical sleeve. The juncture between the base surfaces of the crimps and the cylindrical sleeve 19 has a relatively large radius.

  • Patent number: 5165805
Abstract: Roller bearing cage, especially for cylindrical roller bearings or needle bearings, which presses the rolling elements elastically in the radial direction against a raceway to prevent rippling, characterized in that, at least at one point (6), the cage (1) has notches (8) proceeding from the end surfaces (10) and a connecting part (11), which is rigid in the peripheral direction and which is located between the notches; and in that, in the peripheral direction, a recess (9), extending approximately across the width of the cage, is provided on one or both sides next to notches (8), this recess forming the boundaries of elastic sections (12).

  • Patent number: 5087133
Abstract: An arrangement for attaching running rings to a rotary drum includes straps which hold the bore surface of the rings on a supporting surface of the rotary drum. The straps are circumferentially spaced apart on at least one of the two sides of the respective ring, and each of the straps has an axial projection with a support surface facing an engagement surface of the ring, the support surface facing radially inward. In order to prevent contact wear between the bore surface of each running ring and the respective supporting surface, each engagement surface and/or support surface is inclined toward the axis of the drum, in the direction extending axially outward of the respective running ring. The support surface of each strap is axially adjustable with respect to the engagement surface of the respective running ring, so that the bore surface of the rings can be pushed locally against the supporting surface of the rotary drum by the straps.

  • Patent number: 5044786
Abstract: In a bearing arrangement for a rotary drum, the ends of two cradles are attached to load-carrying rollers which rotate freely over a surface area of a race of the rotary drum. The cradles run in self-aligning bearings in a load-bearing structure via intermediate cradles. Each load-carrying roller runs in bearings at the end of its respective cradle, in a manner which avoids slanting and which is free of axial clearance. Each cradle runs in rocker bearing located between its two load-carrying rollers, without bearing clearance at the end of an intermediate cradle. One of the intermediate cradles runs in a journal bearing with an axial clearance equal to or larger than the axial dislocation of the load-carrying rollers in the load bearing structure when the rotary drum is in operation.

  • Patent number: 4878769
Abstract: A center-free rolling bearing assembly for machine tools comprising a disk-shaped outer ring, two adjacent outer raceways on the inner radial edge of the outer ring which converge conically together in an axially and radially inward direction, an inner ring, two conical inner raceways on the lateral surface of the inner ring, one in parallel with each outer raceway, and a row of cylindrical rolling elements between each outer raceway-inner raceway combination. The rolling elements of each row are guided laterally by the side surfaces of inner and outer guide flanges forming a single piece with the inner ring. The outer raceways form a single piece with the outer ring and the inner raceway form a single piece with the inner ring. At least one of the two outer guide flanges are formed by an outer flange ring which can be fixed in place on a seating section of the lateral surface of the inner ring, so that the rolling elements can be installed between the two outer and inner raceways.
