  • Patent number: 7522277
Abstract: The present invention relates to an imaging optical system for imaging the peripherally extending lateral surfaces (9) of an object (10) on to an imaging plane, comprising a reflecting element (6) and a first angle-reducing element (3, 17) which is arranged downstream of the reflecting element in the beam direction and which reduces the angle between a light beam emanating from the object (10) and the optical axis (12). In order to provide an imaging optical system for imaging the peripherally extending lateral surfaces of objects, which is both simple and inexpensive to produce and also has a large acceptance angle for the incident radiation and which is tolerant in relation to inaccurate positioning of the object, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that arranged upstream of the reflecting element (6) in the beam direction is a second angle-reducing element (13) which reduces the angle between a light beam (1, 1) emanating from the object (10) and the optical axis (12).

  • Publication number: 20080122365
Abstract: This application document describes a method of supplying pulsed power to light bulbs of different output ratings in motor vehicles. The pulse width (duty cycle: ratio of pulse duration and period duration) is adjustable by detecting the bulb current (I), determining the nominal output of the light bulb that power is to be supplied to, and adapting the pulse width to the bulb current (I) detected.

  • Patent number: 4021211
Abstract: A process and apparatus for separation of solvents from an air stream laden with solvent vapors by adsorption using active carbon followed by regeneration of the carbon by desorption by steam using a plurality of active carbon chambers. The sequence of charging and regeneration of the active carbon is controlled automatically in dependence upon the concentration of solvent vapors in the air stream. During the change over from charging to regeneration the active carbon is first subjected to desorption by steaming with a large volume of steam and then, when steam breaks through on the outlet side of the carbon the volume of steam is reduced for the purpose of drying the carbon. The change over is effected by a measuring device arranged on the outlet side of the carbon chamber responsive to a pre-determined threshold concentration of solvent vapors in the outgoing stream.
