  • Patent number: 10794422
Abstract: A slewing ring bearing includes an outer race and an inner race rotatable relative to the outer race. At least one of the outer race or the inner race is split into a first portion and a separate, second portion. The slewing ring bearing also has a plurality of roller elements arranged between one or more raceways defined by the inner and outer races. The first and second portions of at least one of the inner or outer races are coupled together via a threaded interface therebetween so as to establish a predetermined preload for the slewing ring bearing.

  • Publication number: 20170101531
Abstract: A composition for a shaft end closure that includes a first component that can be a plastic material and at least one, or both, of a second component and a third component, the second and third components being different than the first material. The second and third components can enhance the detection of the composition and/or of the shaft end closure by different types of electronic detection devices. The second component can comprise a ferrous and/or non-ferrous metal material, including, for example, a plurality of metal flakes that are detectable by metal detection devices. The third component can be a compound, including, for example, barium, that is detectable by X-ray devices. The second and third components can comprise from about 1% to about 20% by weight of the composition.

  • Patent number: 8240923
Abstract: A thermally stable tribological coating is applied to the outer surface of a moveable bearing outer ring in a bearing assembly for an x-ray tube rotating anode and/or the surface of a housing bore of the X-ray tube rotating anode which receives the bearing assembly. If the tribological coating is applied to the outer surface of the bearing outer ring, it is made of a material that is metallurgically incompatible with the material from which the housing containing the bearing is made. The coating includes one or more of the following: Cr, W, Mo, or Nb, or nitrides, carbides, oxides, or sulfides of Cr, W, Mo, or Nb.
