  • Publication number: 20130057330
Abstract: An enhanced complementary waveform generator (ECWG) generates two complementary pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs determined by rising and falling event sources. In a simple configuration of the ECWG, the rising and falling event sources are the same signal which is a PWM signal having the desired period and duty cycle. The ECWG converts this single PWM input into dual complementary PWM outputs. The frequency and duty cycle of the dual PWM outputs substantially match those of the single input PWM signal. Blanking and deadband times may be introduced between the dual complementary PWM outputs, and the dual complementary PWM outputs may also be phase delayed.

  • Patent number: 8329606
Abstract: Process for the in-situ regeneration of a zeolite catalyst in a carbonylation process for the production of at least one of methyl acetate and acetic acid. The process is carried out by (a) contacting a carbonylatable reactant selected from methanol, dimethyl ether and dimethyl carbonate and carbon monoxide in a reactor with a zeolite catalyst and recovering a product stream containing at least one of methyl acetate and acetic acid from the reactor, (b) ceasing contact of the catalyst with the carbonylatable reactant, (c) regenerating the catalyst with a regenerating gas selected from hydrogen or a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide at a temperature in the range 250 to 600 C, and (d) terminating the hydrogen regenerating step and resuming contact of the catalyst with the carbonylatable reactant and carbon monoxide.

  • Patent number: 7997297
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for performing parallel chemical experiments. The system comprises an array of parallel flow through reactors each comprising a reaction chamber, a reactor inlet and a reactor outlet connected to the reactor chamber. Downstream of each reactor a corresponding active pressure regulating arrangement is provided for actively regulating the reactor pressure. The pressure regulating arrangement comprises a passage for reactor effluent with an inlet connected to the reactor outlet and an outlet for discharging reactor effluent at a reduced pressure with respect to the reactor pressure.

  • Publication number: 20050169815
Abstract: A system for performing a chemical experiment comprises a reactor vessel having a wall defining a reaction chamber for receiving one or more fluids performing a chemical reaction. An analysis apparatus is located remote from said reactor vessel for analysing samples of said one or more fluids removed from said reaction chamber. Sampling means and transfer means are provided which are adapted for removing samples of said one or more fluids from said reaction chamber and transferring said samples to said analysis apparatus. The sampling and transfer means comprise a sample removal passage in communication with said reaction chamber and a sample transfer passage connected to said sample removal passage and extending to said analysis apparatus. The sample removal passage establishes an open communication between said reaction chamber and said sample transfer passage and the sample removal passage contains a flow restrictor.
