  • Publication number: 20080178571
Abstract: An inlet bleed heat and power augmentation system utilizing a bi-directional and common piping arrangement is disclosed. The piping arrangement includes a plurality of feed tubes arranged to communicate either steam to a compressor discharge plenum or compressed air from the compressor discharge plenum. Various embodiments of the invention are discussed including operation methods.

  • Patent number: 6935116
Abstract: A gas turbine combustion system having reduced emissions and improved flame stability at multiple load conditions is disclosed. The improved combustion system accomplishes this through complete premixing, a plurality of fuel injector locations, combustor geometry, and precise three dimensional staging between fuel injectors. Axial, radial, and circumferential fuel staging is utilized including fuel injection proximate air swirlers. Furthermore, strong recirculation zones are established proximate the introduction of fuel and air premixture from different stages to the combustion zone. The combination of the strong recirculation zones, efficient premixing, and staged fuel flow thereby provide the opportunity to produce low emissions combustion at various load conditions.

  • Publication number: 20050144953
Abstract: A gas turbine combustor structure having improved cooling effectiveness and increased life as well as a method for improving the cooling effectiveness is disclosed. The gas turbine combustor incorporates a unique flow sleeve configuration for directing air to more effectively cool a combustion liner. The flow sleeve geometry is configured to incorporate a conical aft portion having a plurality of air feed holes that reduce pressure loss to the incoming air and flow separation effects from the surrounding combustor hardware, thereby resulting in improved combustor performance.
