  • Publication number: 20120006211
Abstract: A tool for deburring cut edges on workpieces has a pressure body in the form of a rolling body, by means of which, as relative longitudinal movement of rolling body and workpiece takes place, pressure can be applied to the burr on the relevant cut edge in the direction towards the workpiece while the rolling body rolls along the cut edge. A machine for deburring cut edges on workpieces is provided with a tool of the above-mentioned kind. In the course of a process for deburring cut edges on workpieces, a rolling body is moved along the relevant cut edge with a rolling motion. In that movement, pressure is applied by means of the rolling body to the burr on the cut edge in the direction towards the workpiece.

  • Publication number: 20070014837
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the introduction to a wound under subatmospheric pressure therapy of a wound healing agent, generally comprises a foam pad (11) for insertion substantially into a wound site (12), and a wound drape (13) for sealing enclosure of the foam pad at the wound site. The foam pad is placed in fluid communication with a subatmospheric pressure source for promotion of fluid drainage. Additionally, the foam pad is predisposed, through grafting or other techniques known to those of ordinary skill in the art, with basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), anti-microbial or other factors, also known to those of ordinary skill in the art, for the promotion of increased wound healing.

  • Publication number: 20060140202
Abstract: A mechanism for retrieving data over a network using an asynchronous buffer is described herein. According to one embodiment, an exemplary process includes, in response to a request for first data from a client via a first thread, determining whether a local circular buffer contains the requested first data, the local circular buffer having a head region and a tail region for identifying a head and a tail of the local circular buffer respectively, and the local circular buffer containing a portion of a data file maintained by a server over a network, generating a second thread to the server over the network to request the first data, if the local circular buffer does not contain the requested first data, and returning the first thread to the client while waiting for a result of the second thread from the server. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

  • Patent number: 6557926
Abstract: A flexible planar structure unit is provided as load-space securing element, the unit being arranged extended in a protective position in the vicinity of the moveable rear-section arrangement in such a way that loads which are located in the load space, or at least a person who is located on a seat arrangement facing counter to the direction of travel in the load space is protected with points of attachment to the vehicle bodywork being provided for securing the planar structure unit in the extended protective position.

  • Patent number: 6279942
Abstract: An air bag module housing for a motor vehicle has an oblong basic housing body which is used for receiving a gas generator and an air bag and which is laterally closed by two side covers. The air bag module housing is deformed in the event of an impact of a part of the body, particularly of the head, of a vehicle occupant. In order to optimize deformation of the air bag module housing, at least one slot respectively is provided in the side covers. The slot extends essentially perpendicularly to the expected impact direction of the body part along the largest part of the respective side cover to the edge.

  • Patent number: 6042145
Abstract: An arrangement for adjusting the sitting position of a vehicle occupant has a sensor which determines the sitting height of the vehicle occupant sitting in the vehicle seat and measures in a no-contact manner, a control unit connected with the sensor, and an adjusting motor for the headrest which is connected with the control unit. For reducing the adjusting efforts required of the vehicle occupant when the seat is used and simultaneously ensuring a precise support of the cervical spine by the headrest which is individually adapted to the vehicle occupant, another adjusting motor for a vertical adjustment of the seat cushion relative to the backrest is provided which is also controlled by the control unit. The sensor scans the contour of the vehicle occupant's cervical spine and a computer integrated in the control unit computes from the scanning signals of the sensor the required height position of the headrest.

  • Patent number: 6042190
Abstract: A vehicle seat with a seat cushion, adjustably fixed to the floor of the vehicle, and a backrest, which can be adjusted with respect to the seat cushion, is provided with a restraining device for the seat user. The restraint comprises a three-point safety belt and an additional belt. For optimum protection of the seat user in the resting position and also to prevent so-called submarining, a fixed adjustment of seat cushion and backrest is provided in the resting position in such a manner that the backrest is swiveled about an obtuse angle with respect to the seat cushion, and the seat cushion is shifted into a predetermined front position in the driving direction and inclined towards the rear. The additional belt extends as a transverse shoulder belt from the upper edge of the backrest to a belt buckle disposed near the floor.

  • Patent number: 6020128
Abstract: The nucleic acid sequence encoding the gene for the DNA polymerase I enzyme of Treponema pallidum, the organism causing syphilis. Nucleic acid molecules useful as probes for detecting Treponema pallidum are described. Isolated, recombinant, and synthetic DNA polymerase I enzyme of Treponema pallidum, and the amino acid sequence of the enzyme, are also described. Antibodies to DNA polymerase I from Treponema pallidum are further provided. • Patent number: 5842738
Abstract: A headrest for a vehicle seat is provided with a supporting loop and a head cushion mounted thereon and pivotable in a direction of a seat bottom. An adjusting device activated in the event of a collision is provided for displacing the head cushion relative to the supporting loop in such fashion that the head cushion directly abuts the nape of the neck and the back of the seat occupant's head. To improve head support comfort by provision for individual adjustment of the head support contour to the needs of the seat occupant when asleep, the adjusting device is additionally equipped with a manual operating member that permits changing the setting of the head cushion without adversely affecting the protective function of the head cushion in the event of a collision.

  • Patent number: 4722508
Abstract: In a valve on a processing plant in the chemical apparatus field, which has a valve housing, a feed flange and a discharge shaft, together with a valve seat arranged in the vicinity of the feed flange and an associated valve cone, at least the contacting parts of the valve seat and valve cone are made from metal. The inner wall of the valve seat formed as a surface of revolution is provided in the flow direction with two adjacent areas having different diameters and which are separated from one another by an edge. When the valve is closed, only the valve seat edge engages on the circumferential surface of the valve cone. In the first area facing the feed flange, the valve seat wall preferably has a substantially constant radius which continuously increases in the flow direction in the following second area, resulting in particularly reliable closing behavior. This can be further aided by an axially acting spring element.
