  • Patent number: 9451906
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer readable storage medium for retrieving mental images of faces from the human brain. An exemplary embodiment includes a method for retrieving mental images of faces from a human brain, the method including generating an image on a screen, measuring brain activity data from a brain scanner, varying characteristics of the image on the screen, detecting changes in the brain activity data measured from the brain scanner, and generating a final image on the screen, the final image being related to a subjectively described mental image.

  • Patent number: 8166117
Abstract: An email message is analyzed to identify sections of characters having a common formatting characteristic. Sets of character images are generated for the characters in each section. An analyzed e-mail message is converted from a rich text format to a platform-independent format that specifies the structure of the e-mail message. A set of replacement instructions is generated for use at a message destination. The platform-independent format, the character image sets and the replacement instructions are all transmitted to the destination. At the destination, the message is rendered by using the replacement instructions to replace each character in the message with one of the character images in the character image sets. The message can be displayed at the destination system with the same fonts and font attributes used originally used in creating the message, regardless whether those fonts exist on the destination system.

  • Patent number: 8160375
Abstract: Lossless image compression is performed by receiving and opening an original image file representing an image. A pixel path is determined in the image by analyzing one or more complex structures in the image. The one or more complex structures are represented using a mathematical expression. Each of the pixels along the determined pixel path is replaced to minimize the complex structure, thus providing a compressed image file having a smaller file size than the original image file. A comment is inserted in the compressed image file specifying the determined pixel path. The compressed image file is stored on a computer-readable storage medium.
