Patent number: 11947167Abstract: Fiber optic terminals, tools and methods for adjusting a split ratio of a fiber optic terminal are disclosed. In one embodiment, a tool for adjusting a split ratio of a fiber optic terminal includes an axle for insertion into a port of the fiber optic terminal, and a terminal engagement body disposed about the axle. The terminal engagement body includes a terminal engagement feature for engaging an alignment feature within the fiber optic terminal, wherein the axle is free to rotate with respect to the terminal engagement body, and a set-point indicator. The tool further includes an end piece coupled to the axle, and a plurality of set-point markers, wherein rotation of the end piece causes rotation of the axle and an alignment between one set-point marker of the plurality of set-point markers with the set-point indicator indicates the split ratio of the fiber optic terminal.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2022Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: CORNING RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CORPORATIONInventors: Jody Todd Bliss, Douglas Llewellyn Butler, Agnivo Gosai, Martin Hempstead, Blake Paul Lee, William James Miller, Pinhas Yehuda Rosenfelder, Peter Gerard Wigley

Patent number: 11279169Abstract: A paint delivery tool or paint tray, suitable for use in a paint bucket, includes a paint roller grid mounted to a shelf that includes an auxiliary paint receptacle or cut bucket intended for separate use with a paint brush. The upper shelf includes a semicircular rim and lip for mounting the tool or paint tray to the top of a circular bucket. The paint roller grid extends from an opposite straight edge of the shelf and downward into the paint bucket. A paint roller and a paint brush can then be stored and used separately to reduce waste, messes and clean up. The paint roller grid and the shelf can be an integral one piece member, and they can be joined by a living hinge if molded as a plastic member.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2019Date of Patent: March 22, 2022Inventor: Martin Todd Tracy

Patent number: 9870704Abstract: A method and system for camera calibration comprises configuring a calibration target comprising calibration reflectors on a test vehicle. Video of a test scene is collected. Next the test vehicle is identified as it enters the test scene and recorded as it passes through the test scene. The position of the calibration target in each frame of the video is determined and the corresponding individual position of each calibration reflector for each frame of the recorded frames is used to construct a camera calibration map to calibrate the video camera.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2012Date of Patent: January 16, 2018Assignee: Conduent Business Services, LLCInventors: Martin Edward Hoover, David Martin Todd Jackson, Wencheng Wu, Vladimir Kozitsky

Patent number: 9704201Abstract: A video sequence can be continuously acquired at a predetermined frame rate and resolution by an image capturing unit installed at a location. A video frame can be extracted from the video sequence when a vehicle is detected at an optimal position for license plate recognition by detecting a blob corresponding to the vehicle and a virtual line on an image plane. The video frame can be pruned to eliminate a false positive and multiple frames with respect to a similar vehicle before transmitting the frame via a network. A license plate detection/localization can be performed on the extracted video frame to identify a sub-region with respect to the video frame that are most likely to contain a license plate. A license plate recognition operation can be performed and an overall confidence assigned to the license plate recognition result.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2014Date of Patent: July 11, 2017Assignee: Conduent Business Services, LLCInventors: Orhan Bulan, Aaron M. Burry, Abu S. Islam, Peter Paul, David Martin Todd Jackson

Patent number: 9598211Abstract: A beverage container that includes a main body portion having an open top and a closed bottom, an interior, a circular rim and a first set of threads on an inside surface thereof that are positioned adjacent the rim at a first height. The rim includes a downwardly depending portion that extends below the first set of threads. The container also includes a removable cover with a bottom, a generally cylindrical side wall, an annular flange extending outwardly from the generally cylindrical side wall and an annular collar. The collar, the annular flange and the side wall define a first channel that receives the rim, and the bottom and the generally cylindrical side wall cooperate to define a cover cavity. The side wall includes a second set of threads on an outside surface thereof that are matingly engaged with the first set of threads.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2016Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: MIDEAS, LLCInventors: James Christopoulos, Martin Todd Belle, David Huang, Fernando Pardo, Adil Ali, Matthew Hern, Etienne Iliffe-Moon, Praveen Penmetsa, Matthew O'Brien
