Abstract: In a metallic section as reinforcement for a motor vehicle door which can be fixed to the vehicle door (at 3) by both ends, at least one end having a flat bearing surface and an open cross-section along an axially extending flat slope (15) and being brought to the finished length for installation by oblique forming to length of a continuous starting material made by section rolling, the section is made by section rolling a continuous starting material, namely, by cold rolling steel sheet (8) having a corrosion resistant coating on at least one side and the oblique forming to length is performed by crop cutting or laser beam cutting along a flat or angled oblique cut (15).

Abstract: In a method for the preliminary and/or final mounting of a vehicle door on a part of the bodywork by means of a hinge comprising two stop members, the following method steps are carried out: (a) fastening one hinge member 5 of the hinge to part of the bodywork 2; (b) fastening the other hinge member 7 to the door 3; (c) hanging the vehicle door by plugging the pin 7 on one hinge member into the socket 15 on the other hinge member and aligning the vehicle door with respect to the opening in the bodyshell using a jig; and (d) injecting a hardening plastic substance 18 into the socket surrounding the pin and subsequently sealing the injection opening.

Abstract: In a vehicle door and in particular that of a motor car, which consists of at least an inner sheet and an outer sheet and in which these sheets are spot welded together along the door outer periphery and around the window opening, particularly the upper frame part of the vehicle door is made up of areas of the inner and outer sheets which at their inner flanges are approximately normal to the window plane of a movable window pane and at their outer flanges are parallel to the edges of the window pane which overlaps them and thus form supporting lips for window pane guides and/or seals.
