Patent number: 9849856Abstract: A vehicle seating assembly that includes a seat back having a passenger support attached to a trim carrier with a suspension assembly connecting a support structure. The support structure includes a first trim piece, a seat frame, and a rear panel portion. The rear panel portion includes one or more upper inverted hooks, an energy transfer bracket, one or more lower 2-stage attachment clips, one or more outer wall detents, and one or more breaking members. An airbag deployment system is positioned proximate the first trim piece and a second trim piece and configured to deploy an airbag between the first and second trim pieces. The deployment energy is dissipated through the rear panel portion's one or more upper inverted hooks, the energy transfer bracket, the one or more lower 2-stage attachment clips, the one or more outer wall detents, and the one or more breaking members of the rear panel portion.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2016Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Johnathan Andrew Line, Richard Joseph Soyka, Jr., Martin Voelker, Manoj Desai, Christian J. Patent number: 9694779Abstract: A seatback assembly includes a seatback frame with an airbag deployment system coupled to a side member thereof. The airbag deployment system includes an airbag configured to deploy outwardly at a deployment force. A back panel includes a side member that at least partially covers the airbag deployment system in assembly. The side member includes a notch disposed adjacent to the airbag deployment system which separates a rear portion of the back panel from an airbag door configured to outwardly flex to an open position under the deployment force of the airbag deployment system. An adhesive patch is partially disposed over the notch and includes an adhesive layer adhered to the rear portion of the back panel and the airbag door of the back panel to tether the airbag door to the back panel and control the opening of the airbag door under the deployment force of the airbag.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2016Date of Patent: July 4, 2017Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Johnathan Andrew Line, Martin Voelker, Richard Joseph Soyka, Jr., Manoj Desai

Patent number: 6273563Abstract: The invention relates to ink cartridges having spring elements according to the invention and a spring element itself having a relatively constant spring force over a substantial part of the overall spring travel and comprising at least one first individual element of substantially S-bow or S-curve shape with a first spring characteristic and at least one second individual element of substantially single-bow or curve shape with a second spring characteristic, a regulating spring characteristic with a relatively constant spring force being obtained over the substantial part of the spring travel. Practical embodiments with frame parts and/or cover parts can be favorably produced by injection molding. The individual elements are provided with differing cross-sectional dimensions over their length for reducing stress at bending points susceptible to stress.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2000Date of Patent: August 14, 2001Assignee: BASF AktiengesellschaftInventor: Martin Völker
