    Abstract: A method is provided for joining a pin member of a first component to a second component with a cavity, using an adhesive, to fasten the pin in a target position extending at least partially into the cavity. A distance (D) is provided between the bottom surface of the cavity and the facing end of the pin. A flexible spacer is positioned on the bottom surface of the cavity. The thickness of the spacer equals or exceeds the distance (D) between the bottom surface of the cavity and the facing end of the pin in the target position. The adhesive is filled into the cavity onto the flexible spacer, and the pin is positioned in the target position. The adhesive is cured to obtain a joint between the pin and the second component.

    Abstract: A process for producing hydrogen peroxide with an oxidizing unit in an anthraquinone process can be performed. The process and oxidizing unit have a compressor for obtaining hot compressed oxygen containing gas. The hot compressed oxygen containing gas is utilized in a heat exchanger to increase the temperature of a compressed (cold) offgas obtained in an oxidizing step for the production hydrogen peroxide. Accordingly, the compressed and heated offgas can subjected to an expander without the formation of droplets or damaging the equipment. Moreover, the process and an oxidizing unit reduce the required amount of energy in the form of electrical power and steam, as well as the required amount of cooling medium in an anthraquinone process.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for workup of a methanol/water mixture which is employed in the production of alkali metal methoxides in a reaction column. The mixture is distillatively separated in a rectification column. The vapours obtained at the upper end of the rectification column are compressed in at least two stages and the energy of the vapours compressed in each case is advantageously transferred to bottoms and side streams of the rectification column. This allows particularly energy-efficient use of the energy of the compressed vapours in the process according to the invention. The process for workup of a methanol/water mixture is employed in the production of alkali metal methoxides in a reaction column, wherein methanol and alkali metal hydroxide solution are reacted with one another in countercurrent in a reaction column.
