  • Publication number: 20010025812
Abstract: A liquid filter, especially including an oil filter cartridge 12 which is contained in a pot-shaped or cylindrical housing 10 with threaded cover 11, into which a cooler 13 is preferably installed. An outlet opening 37a is contained in the oil cooler which facilitates complete emptying of the cooler when the filter is changed. In this way a complete replacement of the oil can be performed, so that the replaced oil is not contaminated from the outset by residues of the old oil. Thus, service intervals can be lengthened. To prevent a short circuit of the outlet opening 37a during operation, the opening is closed by a valve stem 33 coupled to the threaded cover and opened by unscrewing the cover.

  • Patent number: 6267094
Abstract: The invention concerns an oil pump module (11) for assembling in one structural unit, an oil pump (18), an oil cooler (37) and an oil filter (43). Said module has a base element (12) capable of being produced in the form of a plastic housing. An oil pump (18) is inserted from one side and, from the other side, an oil cooler (37) and an oil filter (43). Moreover, the oil pump (18) is sealingly pressed, by the base element (12), against an internal combustion engine frame, so as to be driven by said engine. The invention enables to obtain not only a particularly compact and light oil pump module (11), but also an entire pre-assembled unit, with complete module control at the supplier's.

  • Patent number: 6224531
Abstract: A rotor (1) designed to be installed in the housing (16) of a free jet centrifuge, the rotor being provided with at least one inlet (3) and at least one outlet (4), which outlet is configured as a nozzle which is oriented at least substantially tangentially to the axis of rotation (13) of the rotor. The rotor is provided with receptacles for bearings for rotatably mounting the rotor, and the rotor having at least one guide element (7) which extends from an inner wall (38) to an outer wall (39) of a rotor interior space (8). At least the rotor shell (11) is made of synthetic resin material. Owing to its form, the synthetic resin centrifuge rotor can be made up of a reduced number of parts. The rotor may be composed of two elements, a base (10) and a shell (11), connected together either by a snap connection or by welding, such as vibration welding. An oil centrifuge fitted with such a rotor is particularly suitable for cleaning lubricating oil used in an internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 6126818
Abstract: A filter system, in particular for filtering the lubricant of an internal combustion engine, having at least two filter elements (19, 25) which can be connected successively to the oil circuit and a changeover valve (21) which feeds the oil to be cleaned to one of the filter elements, with the valve (21) being operated by the pressure difference between the clean oil side and the raw oil side of a filter element (19, 25, 26).

  • Patent number: 5934241
Abstract: An internal-combustion engine, particularly for a motor vehicle, is provided with an oil pan. Oil ducts are molded into the housing of the oil pan. An oil filter housing with an oil filter and an oil pump is integrated in the oil pan. Together with the oil filter and the oil pump, the oil pan can be mounted and/or demounted as a unit to the internal-combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 5842451
Abstract: In a camshaft drive housing for an internal combustion engine supporting auxiliary equipment, an oil pump is mounted in the housing cover and driven by the engine crankshaft. It supplies oil under pressure to an oil filter also mounted on the camshaft drive housing and the pressure of the oil leaving the oil filter is communicated back to the oil pump by way of a passage extending through the housing cover for controlling the oil pump.
