  • Publication number: 20030141874
Abstract: A circuit configuration and a method for determining a current drawn from a mains by a converter through a dc voltage intermediate circuit, replaces a required pulse-resistant input current measuring resistor with a conductor track of the circuit configuration itself. Since the input current drawn from the mains by the dc voltage intermediate circuit is on average equal to the output current delivered to the converter, the present resistance of the conductor track is given by the resistance of the measuring resistor downstream of the dc voltage intermediate circuit, weighted with the quotient of the input and output voltage drops. In that way, the mains current and therewith the power factor can be influenced by way of a current limiter without requiring an expensive pulse-resistant special resistor for mains current measurement.

  • Patent number: 6505369
Abstract: In a method of measuring the loading of a washing drum 1, drivable by a motor 2, of a washing machine or a washer-drier, in a first phase A the washing drum 1 is accelerated by way of an electronic control system 3 to a first speed of rotation nb which is above the laundry-application speed of rotation na. In order to provide that removal of water from the laundry and machine friction are involved in the measurement result to the minimum possible degree, in a subsequent second phase B the washing drum 1 is braked to a second speed of rotation nc by electrical braking of the motor 2. The electronic control system 3 detects the variation in the braking procedure in regard to speed of rotation and/or braking moment to ascertain the mass moment of inertia of the loaded washing drum.

  • Patent number: 6334290
Abstract: An apparatus for producing packages having a heating device for heating a bottom sheeting strip, a forming device, a filling device, a sealing device for sealing on a top strip, and a cutting device for separating the packages. For forming downward-drawn rims on the packages that make them easy to drink from, additional recesses are embodied in the forming device, and the bottom sheeting strip is pressed by means of protrusions into recesses disposed on the upper part of the forming device. The cutting device also has a stamping knife, which cuts the package out of the foil composite in the region of the downward-drawn rim.

  • Patent number: 6249094
Abstract: Described is a method of determining the rotary position of the rotor of a synchronous motor, in relation to the rotating magnetic stator field. The instantaneous rotor position is ascertained by measurement of the emf (E.s) induced in at least one stator winding by the rotor in a current gap in the stator current (I.s) flowing through said stator winding, wherein in accordance with the invention when using a sinusoidal or quasi-sinusoidal stator current an artificial current gap in the stator current is produced. In that case the induced emf (E.s) is directly derived from the tapped-off terminal potential (U.s) of the respective stator winding.

  • Patent number: 6016041
Abstract: A rotary speed control circuit for feeding a dc universal motor for driving a washing machine. A rectifier and a smoothing capacitor derive the operating voltage of the motor from the mains ac voltage and provided for control of the rotary speed is a regulating device (R) which controls a power stage for the motor, the power stage including a power switch (TR1) and a commutation diode (D1) in the topology of a low-setting device. The power stage feeding the motor includes a high-setting inductor (L) and can be switched over from the topology of a low-setting device to the topology of a high-setting device.
