  • Patent number: 9182759
Abstract: A driver assistance system for the fully automated driving of a motor vehicle has a control device for generating control signals for actuators of the motor vehicle, which are designed to drive the motor vehicle. The control device forms a slave of a master-slave arrangement. A user interface of the device forms the master. The user interface receives as an input from a user, a selection of a driving maneuver that is to be performed by the slave and/or a driving parameter value for a driving parameter with respect to a driving maneuver which is currently carried out by the slave. After completion of the input, the user interface activates the slave as a function of the input. The user interface has a representation of the motor vehicle, arranged in a field, wherein an edge represents a maximum permissible change in the driving parameter value.

  • Patent number: 9174642
Abstract: A motor vehicle has a driver assistance device to guide the motor vehicle in an automated manner during travel. The driver assistance device can be switched between a plurality of assistance modes. First, second and third control device differ in the actions the control. The first operating device directly drives the motor vehicle by the driver of the motor vehicle in a manual mode. The second operating device adjusts driving parameters for a partially automated assistance mode, and the third operating device serves as a user interface for the fully automated assistance mode. In a fully automated assistance mode, the driver assistance device provides independent lateral guidance and controls a wheel steering angle. In this case, an actuator adjusts a rotary position of the steering wheel to follow the wheel steering angle set by the driver assistance device.

  • Publication number: 20150052768
Abstract: A position of a turntable axis is repeatedly determined in the device coordinate system of a coordinate measuring device. A test body on the turntable is probed in a plurality of turntable positions in order to determine the X and Y coordinates of the turntable axis in the device coordinate system from the contact points. In addition, a first contact body reference point that is stationary relative to the X-axis and disposed next to the turntable is probed to determine its X coordinate. Similarly, a second contact body reference point that is stationary relative to the Y-axis is probed to determine its Y coordinate. These steps are repeated at one or more later points in time to repeatedly determine the X coordinate and the Y coordinate of the turntable axis from the X coordinate of the first contact-body reference point and the Y coordinate of the second contact-body reference point.

  • Publication number: 20150032321
Abstract: A motor vehicle has a driver assistance device which is designed to guide the motor vehicle independently and can be switched between several assistance modes which differ in a degree of autonomy of the driver assistance device when driving the motor vehicle. An operating device having several operating elements allows the user to adjust respective driving parameters, which determine a driving behavior of the driver assistance device, in at least one of the assistance modes as a function of an activation of the operating elements. The operating device is designed in the form of a palm rest. Some of the operating elements are arranged on a support body. The support body is mounted such that it can be manually rotated about a vertical axis, and the driver assistance device is designed to adjust the currently active assistance mode as a function of a rotary position of the support body.

  • Patent number: 6564647
Abstract: A method tests a ceramic socket insert of a hip joint endoprosthesis in which, in use, a spherical head articulates against a functional inner surface of a ceramic socket insert which is anchored in a pelvic bone by means of a socket housing. The method includes providing the ceramic socket insert in a holding arrangement, applying a predetermined pressing force to a predetermined sub-area of the functional inner surface of the ceramic socket insert, and applying a supporting force to a sub-area of an outer surface of the ceramic socket insert to counteract the pressing force. The predetermined sub-area of the functional inner surface symmetrically surrounds a pole of the inner surface of a ceramic socket insert. The predetermined force is such that stresses generated in the ceramic socket insert are higher than stresses generated in the case of a physiological load.

  • Patent number: 6176140
Abstract: A ceramic socket or ceramic socket insert for a hip joint prosthesis is tested prior to implantation in a human body by subjecting the portions of the interior of the socket or socket insert to a load that generates stresses that are greater than the physiological load. This may be accomplished either by pressing a hemispherically-shaped deformable material such as polymer or plastic into the interior of the socket or socket insert or by exposing the interior of the socket or socket insert to a fluid under pressure. The interior of the socket or socket insert may be sealed off with a test punch that has a supply line for the fluid. To reduce the amount of fluid that is required, the test punch may have a bulge that projects into the interior of the socket or socket insert and leaves only a gap for the fluid.

  • Patent number: 6111933
Abstract: In an X-ray device which includes an X-ray tube (12) provided with means (15, 22, 23) for influencing the electron flow through the X-ray tube (12), a control voltage for the means for influencing the electron flow is customarily generated by means of a complex circuit which, because of its size, is not suitable to be accommodated within the protective tube housing. This has the drawback that the control voltage for the X-ray tube, usually of high voltage potential, must be supplied additionally to the high-voltage supply. Therefore, it is desirable to realize a simple generation means the control voltage which is suitable for accommodation in the protective tube housing. To this end, the invention proposes a piezoelectric transformer (21, 24, 25) for generating the control voltage for the X-ray tube. The invention also relates to a piezoelectric transformer which is particularly suitable for generating such a control voltage.

  • Patent number: 5895444
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for controlling a coordinate measuring apparatus wherein the probe head (2) and the probe pin (19) of the apparatus are control driven in accordance with desired data Pi. The probe pin (19) is movably attached to the probe head (2). In the method, the probe pin for measuring the workpiece (15) can touch down on the surface of the workpiece to be measured or can be lifted off of this surface. The speed of measurement is increased by selecting the angle (.alpha.down, .alpha.up) between the direction of movement vres of the probe head (2) when touching down or when lifting off and the projection of the direction of movement toward the plane tangential to the workpiece surface in the touchdown/liftoff point (Pdown, Pup) to be less than 30.degree..

  • Patent number: 5878109
Abstract: An X-ray apparatus includes an X-ray source with an X-ray tube (2) arranged in a protective tube housing (1) and a filament converter which is connected to the cathode (3) of the X-ray tube (2) and accommodated in the protective tube housing (1). Because of its volume, the filament converter usually cannot be accommodated in the protective tube housing (1) of conventional X-ray apparatus unless major structural modifications are made. However, the use of attenuated high-voltage cables at the cathode side is then impossible still. The invention utilizes a filament converter in the form of a coreless filament transformer (14, 15, 16, 17) and the primary coil (14, 16) of the filament transformer is arranged so as to be coaxial with the secondary coil (15, 17) of the filament transformer. Moreover, the two coils are arranged around a carrier (5, 10), which is preferably the high-voltage connection socket (10) or the tube neck (5).

  • Patent number: 5818706
Abstract: A high-voltage generator, includes a rectifier circuit (9) and a measuring resistor arrangement (8) for forming a measuring voltage (U.sub.M) which is proportional to the direct voltage (U.sub.DC), the measuring resistor arrangement (8) comprising at least one associated measuring resistor (R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3) for each rectifier stage (31, 32, 33). In order to achieve a cost-saving and notably space-saving construction with adequate shielding of the measuring resistors (R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3) from parts of the circuit (C.sub.4 . . . C.sub.9, 1, 2, 3) carrying the alternating voltage and from ground potential, the measuring resistors (R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3) are integrated in the associated rectifier stages (31, 32, 33) and enclosed by a shield (11, 12, 13) which carries the direct voltage potential of the associated rectifier stage (31, 32, 33).
