Abstract: vehicle door handle assembly with a sensor device for detecting an actuation is provided. A handle of the handle assembly has a section which can be gripped from behind and an outer wall that delimits an interior in which an electronic sensor device is arranged and fixed. The handle section is formed with a reduced outer wall thickness in an actuation region and has a deformability that is increased with respect to the remaining sections of the handle. The outer wall thickness is reduced solely on the outer wall face oriented towards the interior. The handle outer wall inner face oriented towards the interior is coated with a metal layer at least in the actuation region. The electronic sensor device comprises at least one inductive distance sensor which lies opposite the metal layer in the interior of the handle to detect a deformation of the opposing outer wall.

  • Patent number: 9995065
Abstract: A vehicle door handle assembly includes an actuating element, which is actuated by a user gripping the handle from behind. The actuating element protrudes outward through a recess in the handle from an inner cavity through a wall of the handle over an outer contour of the handle. The actuating element is movable through the recess in the direction of the handle inner cavity against an elastic restoring force. The actuating element is at least in sections made of a metal. Located inside the handle is a stationary electric module with an inductive distance sensor so that when the actuating element moves, the distance of the actuating element in relation to the inductive distance sensor changes. An evaluation unit detects the signals of the inductive distance sensor, detects an actuation as a function of the signals, and provides an output signal.

  • Publication number: 20180149333
Abstract: A vehicle lighting module includes a silicone lens having an input surface and an exit surface, and a light source. The lens defines a near-zero draft between the input surface and the exit surface. The input surface is configured to shape an incident light emanating from the light source into a collimated light pattern emanating from the exit surface and containing at least 69% of the incident light. For this, the input surface includes a plurality of multi-faceted near-field lens elements each having a different focal length and each defining a near-zero draft. The exit surface includes a plurality of micro-optical elements configured to shape the collimated light pattern into a predetermined emitted light pattern.

  • Publication number: 20170260778
Abstract: A vehicle door handle includes a sensor assembly for detecting an operation request. The door handle is fixed and actuates an electric lock. The sensor assembly includes a first capacitive sensor arranged in the door handle and oriented towards an inner side of the handle. It monitors a first handle section gripped when actuating the handle. Second and third sensors are arranged along an axial extension of the handle. The second sensor is oriented towards an outer side of the handle and monitors a touching from the outer side in a second handle section. The third sensor is oriented towards the inner side of the handle and monitors a touching from the inner side. The electronic control and evaluation device generates an opening signal when both the capacitive sensor detects a gripping of the door handle and the second sensor and the third sensor simultaneously each detect a touching.

  • Patent number: 9447604
Abstract: A door handle for motor vehicles includes a handle body and a cover which cooperate to form a handle for a user. An accommodating space for electronic components is formed between the handle body and the cover. A capacitive proximity sensor is arranged in the space. The sensor has an active capacitive face directed towards the cover for detecting approaching movements. The capacitive face is coupled to an evaluation circuit which detects changes in the capacitance of the capacitive face. A sealing element composed of a closed-cell foam is located in the space. The sealing element has at least one continuous opening spaced from an edge. The opening is located above the active face of the proximity sensor and is compressed between the cover and the handle body with the result that at least one area above the active face of the sensor is free of foam.
