    Abstract: A braking and/or clamping device includes an annular housing which has a pneumatic or hydraulic connection and surrounds an axially oriented rod receptacle. The housing has a base part and a cover part. An annular pressure chamber is disposed within the housing. The pressure chamber is axially delimited by a piston which is movable in the axial direction. The pressure chamber is radially delimited by the outer walls of the housing and by an inner ring which surrounds an inner wall of the housing. The inner wall has an inner wall portion. In the housing, a disc element is disposed on the piston top face, which faces away from the pressure chamber and is axially oriented. The piston top face is seated against or fastened to the disc element. The inner wall portion is protrudingly located in a cover part or in a base part of the housing.

    Abstract: A gripping device includes a drive motor with a motor-current-monitoring or pressure-monitoring system, and a gear unit which can be driven by the drive motor. The gear unit has a worm gear stage driven by a rotatable gear shaft, which worm gear stage is coupled to at least one of at least two gripping element carriers which are movable relative to one another. A holding brake for blocking the gear shafts is arranged in a housing of the gripping device. The worm gear stage has a screw that is axially slidable towards at least one spring energy accumulator, so that, upon an increase in the flank pressure on the respective gripping pressure flank of the screw, the loading on one of these spring energy accumulators increases. The drive motor is so relieved of load in a gripping device in spite of a high gripping force.

    Abstract: A method creates gripping-task-specific gripper sequence programs of an item gripper which is controlled by a gripper control module and has a gripper main body and a gripping tool. The item gripper transmits a gripper-main-body-specific identification signal to the gripper control module. The gripper control module assigns a gripper dataset from a database to this identification signal. The dataset has an allowable value range for each settable parameter of the item gripper. A gripping-task-specific configuration dataset for the item gripper is created by a peripheral device. The gripper control module determines gripping-task-specific target values and test criteria. A processing unit of the item gripper establishes the time profile of the actuation of the gripper drive from the target values and determines gripper-specific test values from the test criteria. The present method creates both a sequence program for closing the item gripper and a sequence program for opening the item gripper.

The bending plates each have gripper jaws (23, 24) with frictional surfaces (31, 32). A sealed pressure chamber (37), which can be filled with a pressure medium, is situated between the bending plates. Parts of a shaft-coupling assembly project between the clamping zones, said parts establishing and establish the linking to the braked or clamped shaft. When the pressure in the pressure chamber is relieved, the frictional surfaces of the actuating assembly can be applied to the frictional surfaces of the shaft-coupling assembly, thereby providing the braking and/or clamping force.
