    Abstract: A method of making a board or mat, includes forming a liquid slurry with solids including inorganic fibers and cellulose fibers, forming a web from the slurry on at least one foraminous element, extracting water from the web, and drying the web to make a product, wherein the pH of the liquid slurry including the inorganic fibers and cellulose fibers is in the pH range of 2-6 and wherein the cellulose fibers have a Schopper-Riegler index of ?50 according to ISO 5267.
