  • Publication number: 20070058109
Abstract: A mirror device (1) which can be simultaneously used for display purposes, based on e.g. an LCD display (5) with a polarizing mirror (2) placed in front of it. The polarizing mirror (2) has the characteristics that it does not disturb the transmission of the light from the display to the viewer (3), but does reflect the incident light. A combined viewing angle and reflection problem related to switchable optical components (14) placed in front of the polarizing mirror (2) is overcome.

  • Publication number: 20070041096
Abstract: A mirror device (1) which can be simultaneously used for display purposes, based on e.g. an LCD display (5) with a polarizing min or (2) placed in front of it. the reflectivity of such a mirror display is enhanced by providing at its non-viewing side a further polarizing mirror (11) Color absorption in the display is prevented by placing the color filter (13) or a color (sequential) backlight (30) behind this reflective polarizer at the back of the display.

  • Publication number: 20060279528
Abstract: A display system (100) comprises: a display device (102) being arranged to generate a first view (112) in a first direction relative to the display device (102) and to generate a second view (114) in a second direction relative to the display device (102), the second direction being different from the first direction; user-input means (104) for accepting user-input by means of detecting a position of a hand (110, 111) of an user (116) or of a pointing device held by the hand, the position relative to the display device (102), the userinput means (104) being arranged to control the first view (112) and the second view (114) on basis of the detection; and observation means (106) for observation of the user (116) and arranged to detect whether the user-input is provided to control the first view (112) or the second view (114), on basis of the observation.

  • Publication number: 20060279558
Abstract: The present invention relates to a display device having a touch screen (301). The touch screen comprises a first light guide (302), a second light guide (307) and a media (309) between the light guides for eliminating interference and reflections. A light source (308) is arranged to emit light (310) into the first light guide (302), which light is normally confined within the first light guide by means of total internal reflections. The second light guide (307) is arranged at the exterior face of the first light guide (302). When a user of the display device establishes physical contact with the touch screen (301), light is extracted from the first light guide and directed towards light detecting means (303). The light detecting means (303) are arranged for relating a light detecting event to an input position on the touch screen (301), where user interaction occurred.

  • Publication number: 20060239479
Abstract: Mobile device having a sound generating means and a display. The mobile device (1) comprises a display (2) with means (3) for acoustically exciting the display or a part of the display. In order to increase the sound volume, particularly at low frequencies, the mobile device is arranged such that when the mobile device is positioned on a table top as defined in this application, the sound volume at a frequency between 0.5 kHz and 1.5 kHz at a 1 meter's distance from the mobile device is increased by at least 6 dB as compared to the same device when used in air.

  • Publication number: 20060182292
Abstract: A panel-shaped acoustic wave generator (1A; 1B; 101) comprises one or more planar plates (2,3;102,103). In an embodiment two planar plates (2, 3; 102, 103) are arranged substantially parallel at a distance (D) from each other, while the wave generator (1A;1B;101) further includes an acoustic transducer unit (4; 110A) for causing at least one of the plates to vibrate and a motional feedback unit (10; 110B). The motional feedback unit (10; 110B) comprise an integrated motion sensor (9) which comprises a first sensor component (11; 111B) mechanically coupled to a first plate (2; 102) and a second sensor component (12; 112B) mechanically coupled to a second plate (3; 103). In a specific embodiment, the wave generator is implemented as a display device (100) wherein the feedback means comprise at least one display cell (110B) of the display device.
