  • Patent number: 7620389
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and communication system allowing interception of a communication or connection of a target to be intercepted. According to preferred embodiments of the invention, interception triggering information is transmitted between the user plane and control plane (e.g. via Gr-, Gc-, Gi-interfaces). The system comprises at least one control means for handling signaling of a connection between a user equipment and another communication device, and a support element for transmitting traffic information between the user equipment and the another communication device. When the connection is to be intercepted, the control means is adapted to generate an interception information for informing the support element or another network element on an identification of the target to be intercepted. The support element is adapted to copy the traffic information to another network element for interception when receiving an interception information from the control means.

  • Patent number: 7487238
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and network device for monitoring a party in a communication network, wherein a link information linking at least two types of identifier data for identifying parties to be monitored is stored, and a correspondence between the stored link information of the monitor party and identifier data supplied from the communication network for the monitored party is checked. A new link information linking supplied non-matching identifier data to a stored other type of the at least two types of identifier data linked by the stored link information is added to the stored link information, to thereby provide an automatic Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) infecting feature. Thereby, no connections are missed as each new set of identifier data generates a new entry in the database.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and communication system allowing interception of a communication or connection of a target to be intercepted. According to preferred embodiments of the invention, interception triggering information is transmitted between the user plane and control plane (e.g. via Gr-, Ge-, Gi-interfaces). The system comprises at least one control means for handling signalling of a connection between a user equipment and another communication device, and a support element for transmitting traffic information between the user equipment and the another communication device. When the connection is to be intercepted, the control means is adapted to generate an interception information for informing the support element or another network element on an identification of the target to be intercepted. • Patent number: 6711689
Abstract: An interception system and method for performing a lawful interception in a packet network such as the GPRS or UMTS network is described. The interception system comprises an interception activation monitoring function, an interception activation and deactivation function, an interception data collection function and an interception data destination function. The interception data collection function can be implemented in an existing network node such as a GPRS support node, wherein an interception information is set in the corresponding PDP context, and the collection of the intercepted data is performed in response to the set interception information. Furthermore, the interception data destination function may be arranged in an interception browsing element arranged for browsing the intercepted databased on an external command received from another network element comprising the interception activation and deactivation function.

  • Patent number: 6587693
Abstract: The addresses of a mobile station (MS) and a second party (B) connected to the Internet (12) are converted in such a way that a short message service center (SMSC) receives an allocation request (2-1) from a mobile station for allocating a virtual number (VN) to a combination comprising the address (IAB) of a second party preferably also a mobile station identifier. The SMSC sends a reply (2-2) to the mobile station, the reply indicating the allocated virtual number (VN). The mobile station (MS) transmits a short message (2-9) to the virtual member. The SMSC forms an Internet address (IAB) of the second party (B) on the basis of the virtual number (VN) and the allocation request (2-1) and sends to the Internet address an e-mail message (2-10) whose text part corresponds to the text part of the short message. The B party can reply (2-11) by using the reply function of the e-mail, which exchanges the sender for the recipient The B party can also use (2-13) the ISDN number of the mobile station.
