  • Patent number: 4999117
Abstract: A monitoring method for wastewater pump station performance and output, which method is capable of detecting an operating malfunction of the wastewater pump station such as a clog or leak within the pump, piping network or valves, or an output reduction due to pump wear. A monitoring apparatus placed at the wastewater pump staion performs continual monitoring of pump output values based on rates of rise of liquid level during pump non-run periods, time periods for the pump to reduce levels and resulting volume changes and at a controlled moment compares the values with measured reference values.

  • Patent number: 4297751
Abstract: A sewer system in which partial vacuum is used for transporting sewage through a sewer pipe to a collecting chamber or the like. The system comprises only a few sewage producing units, preferably only one at a time usable unit. The length of the sewer pipe from a sewage producing unit to the collecting chamber is comparatively small and the operating devices of the system are arranged to generate vacuum in the sewer pipe principally only for the time required for transporting each separate sewage discharge emitted into the sewer pipe. Preferably, the operating devices are arranged to stop generating the vacuum before the actual transport of the sewage takes part.

  • Patent number: 4184506
Abstract: A vacuum sewer system, comprising a number of sewage feeding devices connected to a sewer pipe system under partial vacuum. The arrangement further comprises a self-discharging sewage collecting container to which the suction duct of a vacuum pump has been connected. This vacuum pump suction duct is provided with a valve by means of which the connection between the collecting container and the vacuum pump can be shut off. The outlet end of the sewer pipe system is connected to the collecting container through a non-return valve and there is also a device by means of which the collecting container can be put under atmospheric pressure or under a higher pressure. The different operations are governed by an automatic control device which effects emptying of the collecting container at suitable intervals.

  • Patent number: 4057076
Abstract: A valve connects a waste water producing unit to a vacuum sewer. The valve comprises a collecting chamber receiving waste water, a closing member a connection between the collecting chamber and the vacuum sewer, a pressure controlled operating device for moving the closing member, a float moved by liquid level variations in the collecting chamber, and a pilot valve. The operating device of the closing member is controlled by the latter and the latter is controlled by the float. The operating device is constantly in connection with the vacuum system of the vacuum sewer and is influenced by the pilot valve so that the vacuum in the operating device is either increased or decreased to obtain a pressure difference in the operating device which pressure difference causes the valve opening movement.

  • Patent number: 3984080
Abstract: A valve suitable for connection to a vacuum sewer system and comprising a flow duct with a resilient wall which acts as a flow duct closing member. Outside the wall with respect to the flow duct there is a closed chamber connectable to suitable pressure sources in order to move the resilient wall by means of pressure between a flow duct closing and a flow duct opening position. In order to improve the closing movement of the valve the resilient wall is provided with a stiffener at the outlet side of the flow duct.
