    Abstract: Low-density press board material is prepared by particulate kenaf core raw material and a cold-set, thermosetting or thermoplastic binder. The compressed and cured material exhibits dimensional stability, acoustical and thermal insulative properties and related characteristics roughly equivalent to some currently available wood and wood-substitute materials. The surfaces of the kenaf core board can be upgraded with the addition of overlays.
