    Abstract: A radiation blocking device for use with a portable communication apparatus such as a cordless or cellular phone. The device has a radiation shield and a connector for attaching the shield to the apparatus. The shield is sized and shaped to reflect radiation emitted by the antenna which would otherwise strike the head of a user of the apparatus. The shield also reflects and absorbs heat emitted by the antenna, reducing the amount of such heat incident on said user's head. The shield is in the shape of an arc of circle and is preferably positioned concentrically with the antenna.
