Abstract: Seismic survey systems and methods that utilize a source event schedule to autonomously generate source events with reference to a reference clock. In this regard, a source event controller may be employed that is synchronized to a reference clock to generate source events with respect to the source event schedule and without requiring real time two way communication between an encoder and a decoder. Accordingly, source events may be generated at a known time even in terrains and environments where real time communication between an encoder and decoder are impractical or impossible.
