Patents by Inventor Maruthi N. Devarakonda

Maruthi N. Devarakonda has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 9114363
Abstract: A catalyst system may include a three-way catalyst that may receive exhaust gases from an engine and convert the exhaust gases to first converted exhaust gases. An ammonia slip catalyst may receive the first converted exhaust gases and convert the first converted exhaust gases to second converted exhaust gases. A hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst may receive the second converted exhaust gases and convert the second converted exhaust gases to third converted exhaust gases.

  • Patent number: 9056279
Abstract: A method and system for controlling emissions in an engine, includes establishing a desired first temperature at an inlet (116) of an ammonia slip catalyst assembly (115); and determining a second temperature associated with a temperature at the inlet of the ammonia slip catalyst assembly (115). If the second temperature is higher than the desired first temperature, then directing an air injector (135) to add air to the inlet (116) of the ammonia slip catalyst assembly (115).

  • Patent number: 9057301
Abstract: A catalyst system may include a three-way catalyst that receives exhaust gases from an engine and an ammonia slip catalyst that receives exhaust gases from the three-way catalyst. An air injection component can be configured between the three-way catalyst and the ammonia slip catalyst. A first sensor can determine first exhaust gases data and transmits that data to a controller, while a second sensor can determine second exhaust gases data and transmit that data to a controller. The controller can estimate unmeasured exhaust gases data based on the data received from the sensors and determine a setting of a component of the system and/or of the engine based on the unmeasured exhaust gases data.

  • Publication number: 20150135679
Abstract: An exhaust system is configured with a diesel oxidation catalyst that receives first exhaust gases from a diesel engine, a diesel particulate filter that receives second exhaust gases from the diesel oxidation catalyst. A first sensor in the exhaust system determines first exhaust gases data and transmits the first exhaust gases data to a controller while a second sensor determines second exhaust gases data and transmits the second exhaust gases data to the controller. The controller estimates unmeasured exhaust gases data based on the first exhaust gases data and the second exhaust gases data and determines when to initiate a regeneration cycle for the diesel particulate filter.
