Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques and apparatuses for multi-network communication. In some aspects a first packet is transmitted via a wireless interface effective to prevent a device associated with a first wireless network from transmitting data packets. The wireless interface is then configured for communication via a second wireless network for a first duration of time and a second packet is transmitted via the wireless interface. Transmission of the second packet is effective to cause a peer device associated with the second wireless network to transmit data packets during the first duration of time. The wireless interface is then configured for communication via the first wireless network for a second duration of time effective to enable reception of the data packets that the device was previously prevented from transmitting.

Abstract: A system including a reference voltage module to generate one or more reference voltages used to determine states of a plurality of memory cells of a nonvolatile memory. The memory cells have a threshold voltage distribution. A divider module selects, in response to a change in the threshold voltage distribution, a voltage range within which to update one of the reference voltages, and divide the voltage range into a plurality of regions. A counting module counts a number of the memory cells having threshold voltages within each of the plurality of regions. An update module selects one of the plurality of regions having the threshold voltages of a smallest number of the memory cells, and updates the one of the reference voltages to a voltage value associated with the selected one of the plurality of regions to compensate for the change in the threshold voltage distribution.

  • Publication number: 20130215743
Abstract: A network device includes a memory, a MAC module, a host control module, and a selector module. The memory stores frames and timestamps corresponding to the frames. The MAC module receives the frames and the timestamps and forwards the frames to a physical layer device. The MAC module includes queues that store the frames received from the memory, and shaping modules that receive the frames from the queues and spread data in the frames over time to generate blocking signals. The host control module transfers ownership of the frames to the MAC module. The host control module or the MAC module masks the transfer of the ownership of first frames including gating the first frames based on the timestamps to delay reception of the first frames in the queues. The selector module selects one of the blocking signals, and forwards the selected blocking signal to the physical layer device.

  • Publication number: 20130203413
Abstract: Wireless discovery is the process in which a service or application is located by a wireless station on a network, usually after the station has established a connection with the network. Wireless pre-association refers to the process of describing an application or service by its hardware/software interoperability requirements and/or a unique identifier prior to a connection being established between two or more wireless stations. A method performs wireless discovery between two or more wireless stations by communicating a data string between a wireless station and another wireless station, prior to a connection having been established between the wireless station and another wireless station, the data string including interoperability information necessary for a service or an application to run on a wireless station receiving the data string.
