Abstract: A top mounted silo unloader utilizes a belt conveyor to move collected silage from the center of the silo structure to the door of the silo chute for discharge of the silage from the silo. The silo unloader uses a vertical auger mounted on top of the silage collection apparatus to receive silage therefrom and elevate the silage for discharge onto the belt conveyor for discharge from the silo. The silage collection apparatus includes an auger and an inboard paddle to discharge silage into the vertical auger. The belt conveyor includes a height adjustment mechanism that facilitates alignment of the belt conveyor with a selected door where a support member engages the door sill to keep the belt conveyor aligned as the silo unloader lowers with the depletion of silage from the surface as the belt conveyor is pivotally supported from the unloader frame to permit vertical movement.
