    Abstract: A puller supported atop the cylinder block has lugs or jaws engaging the underside of the cylinder wall ridge resulting from deposits of carbon and wear by piston rings, whereby screw force applied to the jaws through the puller is effective to pull the cylinder sleeve from the cylinder block. The piston is removed subsequently.
