    Abstract: A material-handler adapted for locating on top of an open topped railroad car includes a chassis mounted on tracks, and a first and second pair of outriggers extending from the chassis. Wheels and clamps are located at the distal ends of the outriggers to stabilize the material handler on the top of the railroad car. A knuckle boom is rotatably mounted on the chassis for manipulating cargo materials. The material handler of the invention also utilizes the clamps and wheels on the outriggers in conjunction with the boom to self-load and self-unload the material handler to and from the top of a railroad car, and to and from one care to another with possible different height and width. Operator safety is enhanced by allowing the operator to control the self-loading and unloading via remote control.

    Abstract: A snow fence system made of snow itself, intended for use around construction sites, like raised pads, commonly used in oil, mining and construction. The snow fence is built in stages. After the first significant snowfall, the pad is cleared by pushing the snow all around of the pad. The pile is then shaped to make a steep flat wall surface on all four sides of the pad. As snow accumulates behind the fence, it is cleared by building higher walls in front of the first wall. The new walls are higher than the first wall and are given a steep vertical face. These snow walls are built on the windward and the opposite sides of the pad. As additional snow accumulates, the fence is built out further from the pad, using the material from the excavated trenches to build additional walls.

    Abstract: A lock is provided which is particularly well adapted for use with a two wheel vehicle. Preferably, the lock includes an enclosure having a shaft mounted to it. A spool or reel includes spaced end plates and a central storage hub between the plates. The reel is rotatably mounted to the shaft. The spool or reel holds reaches of steel cable of other like securing means. A free end of the cable has an eyelet formed on or attached to it. A housing is mounted to the enclosure which contains a suitable locking device including a plunger. The housing has an opening in it sized to receive the free end of the cable. The plunger is movably mounted between a first position, where the plunger is spaced from the reel, and a second position, where the plunger engages the reel. The lock is used by encircling the object, passing the eyelet through the opening in the housing, and passing the plunger through the eyelet and reel.
