  • Patent number: 6968246
Abstract: A method for automated design of orthotic and prosthetic devices has been developed. The method includes scanning a three dimensional model of the patient's limb with a laser scanner. The model is loaded into a computer for use in manufacturing an orthotic or prosthetic device. Before the model is used, it is modified by reducing the overall volume of the model by up to twelve percent of the total volume. Also the model's distal end length is reduced by a calculated percentage of the thickness of a prosthetic liner to be worn with the prosthetic device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 4, 2002
Date of Patent: November 22, 2005
Assignee: Fourroux Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc.
    Inventors: Keith Watson, Marvin Fourroux
  • Publication number: 20050218561
Abstract: A scent media that uses silicone or other elastomeric material as a base component has been developed. The method for making a scented media, includes forming an elastomeric material and then adding a scented material to the elastomeric material to form the scented media. Finally the scented media is cured for a specified time based on the desired characteristics for the media.
