  • Patent number: 7672813
Abstract: A method and system for detecting and classifying biosensor and chemical sensor data includes processing data fetched from an array of sensors. A statistical analysis of the processed data is performed, to obtain statistically analyzed sensor data. A determination is made, based on the statistically analyzed sensor data, whether or not there a response signal has been generated from the array of sensors. If a response signal is determined to have been generated, a numerical pattern recognition is performed on the data collected from the array of sensors, in order to categorize the data.

  • Patent number: 5308771
Abstract: A device for detecting the presence or concentration of an analyte, a method of making the device, and a method of detecting the presence or concentration of an analyte. The invention features one or more supports, such as beads, which carry a thin film of polymer substrate. The polymer substrate has a sensing reagent and a porous matrix. The sensing reagent alters the optical properties of the polymer substrate in the presence of analyte.

  • Patent number: 5268972
Abstract: Fiber optic based optrodes suitable for in-situ monitoring of groundwater and earth material for the presence of aromatic hydrocarbons. The optrodes are fabricated with porous optical waveguides which are impregnated with a chemical indicator whose optical transmission properties change in the presence of aromatic species, providing a high degree of chemical specificity.
