    Abstract: A method is provided for improving the yield of the heterologous proteins sCD4 and derivatives of sCD4, produced by recombinant Streptomyces lividans by the addition of casamino acids to the nutrient medium in which the bacteria are cultured. Also provided by this invention is a method for improving the half-life of heterologous proteins in a cell free culture supernatant by the addition of casamino acids to the supernatant. Complex media are also provided.
