Gloss retention of paints containing the UV-VIS absorber and hindered amine light stabilizer being markedly improved over paints that do not have both components present.

The latex polymer preferably is made from a silane-functional multistage latex polymer wherein at least one of the monomers is capable of keto-hydrazide crosslinking with a dihydrazide, and in some instances at least one of the monomers has at least one amide group. The compositions may be used to coat a variety of substrates, including wood and cement. Articles having the coating applied thereto are also provided.
