Abstract: A responsive cushion system includes a pressure adjustment system and a cushion formed by an array of bladders coupled to the pressure adjustment system. At least two of the bladders are independent from one another such that that each can be independently pressurized and depressurized by the pressure adjustment system. A processor is coupled to the pressure adjustment system and a user interface, and the processor is operable to select a target group of one or more bladders according to data received via a communication interface. The processor is further operable to control the pressure adjustment system to adjust pressurization of bladders outside the target group according to a first pressurization mode, and control the pressure adjustment system to concurrently adjust pressurization of the target group of bladders according to a second, different pressurization mode. At least one of the first and second pressurization modes dynamically changes pressure over time.
