Abstract: The present disclosure relates to wood template-supported phase change material (PCM) composites having thermal energy storage applications. A wood template-supported PCM composite may include a wood template that has had at least a portion of its xylan and/or lignin removed and saturated with a PCM. The PCM may be stabilized with a cross linkable network for improved infiltration into the wood template. The wood template-supported PCM composite may be formed by extracting xylan and/or lignin from the wood to create a wood template, densifying at least a portion of the wood template, and inserting a PCM into the wood template.

  • Patent number: 9549906
Abstract: The disclosure provides methods of treatment of ocular inflammation and/or neuropathic pain in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject in need thereof a CB2 target agent, a cannabimimetic agent or a combination thereof. The agent is optionally a cannabinoid, such as a non-psychotropic cannabinoid or a synthetic cannabinoid. In certain embodiments, the non-psychotropic phytocannabinoid is ?-caryophyllene or cannabidiol [CBD] and the synthetic cannabinoid is HU-433, HU-308, or a modified CBD such as CBD-DMH. In methods of the disclosure, CBD-DMH is optionally administered in combination with a further CB2 target agent or cannabimimetic agent. The disclosure also provides ocular pharmaceutical compositions containing the CB2 target agents and/or cannabimimetic agents described herein.

  • Publication number: 20070088432
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a novel indwelling shunt implant and an associated surgical method for the treatment of glaucoma in which the implant device comprises at least one spiral body and/or grooved or corrugated body and is placed to divert aqueous humor from the anterior chamber of the eye into Schlemm's canal, the collector channels, or the aqueous venous system or to distribute aqueous fluid within Schlemm's canal. The present invention is further directed to providing a permanent, indwelling shunt to provide increased egress of aqueous humor from the anterior chamber to Schlemm's canal, collector channels, or aqueous venous system for glaucoma management.

  • Publication number: 20060260555
Abstract: A litter box assembly has a two piece litter box, each piece having an open end and a support frame in which the open ends are pivotally mounted to each other and to the support frame. Elevating support legs are affixed to the support frame and depend therefrom, the legs being held in fixed rigid position by spacers and braces. The supporting legs form an assembly having an open front, a rear, and two sides, with the open front allowing insertion and withdrawal of a waste or trash container.
