Abstract: A method of providing navigational instructions on a mobile device having an integrated GPS receiver, a geographic information system, and access to at least one database of addresses of geographic locations, each address having an association to a telephone number. The method includes the steps of establishing a present geographic location of the mobile device having integrated GPS receiver; inputting the telephone number identifying a destination; retrieving the address of the destination from the at least one database of addresses based on the input telephone number; and using the retrieved address of the destination and the present geographic location of the mobile device to request navigational instructions from the present geographic location to the destination.
