  • Publication number: 20130335524
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of obtaining a stereoscopic signal from a sequence of monoscopic images. The method includes a step of obtaining a sequence of monoscopic images having been captured by an image acquisition apparatus in an acquisition mode enabling several images to be shot in the course of a regular movement substantially tangential to the plane of the lens of the acquisition apparatus. That step is followed by a step of forming pairs of images from the sequence of images, each pair being formed on the basis of a predetermined temporal distance then a step of calibrating the images of the pairs formed, so as to improve the visual correspondence between the two images. Finally, a stereoscopic signal is constructed from the pairs so calibrated.

  • Patent number: 8230103
Abstract: A method of access by a client computer to a digital image stored on a server computer via a communication network, the digital image being represented by sets of digital data associated respectively with various blocks (Bi) and various resolution levels (Rj) of the image or with various blocks (Bi) and various quality levels (Qk) of the image, comprises a step (E47) of identifying a set of data to be acquired, a step (E48) of calculating the size in bits (b) of the set of data to be acquired, a step (E49) of comparing a number of acquired data bits (B) incremented by the calculated size (b) with a predetermined bit threshold value (S), and a step (E52) of acquiring the set of data identified if the number of data bits acquired incremented by the calculated size (B+b) is less than the predetermined bit threshold value (S). Has particular use for limiting free access to a digital image.

  • Patent number: 7650037
Abstract: This method of displaying a digital image for creating a multimedia content, the image being coded in multiple resolutions, comprises steps consisting of: determining the number of resolutions present in the coded image, obtaining (E230) the data of the sub-images associated with each of the previously determined resolutions, and displaying (E300) all the sub-images.

  • Patent number: 7466865
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of analyzing at least one video sequence present on at least one sending apparatus, in a communication network also comprising at least one receiving apparatus, wherein, the video sequence being compressed with an encoding method which generates a bitstream comprising information representing the temporal activity of the images of the video sequence and information representing the spatial activity of the images of that video sequence, and the temporal and spatial information being distributed between one or more spatio-temporal hierarchical levels, the method comprises the following steps performed at the receiving apparatus: obtaining information representing the temporal activity of the video sequence present on the sending apparatus, analyzing the temporal information obtained, as a function of the result of the analysis, deciding whether the generation of a request destined for the sending apparatus for the obtainment of information representing the spatial activity of t

  • Patent number: 7460720
Abstract: This method of defining qualities for a digital image signal encoded beforehand consists of defining a predetermined number of quality modes each corresponding to at least one decoding parameter of the digital signal, this definition being made on the basis of rate information provided via a graphical interface and quality perception information provided via the visualization of the decoded digital signal.

  • Publication number: 20060036383
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of obtaining a stereoscopic signal from a sequence of monoscopic images. The method firstly comprises a step (S10) of obtaining a sequence of monoscopic images having been captured by an image acquisition apparatus in an acquisition mode enabling several images to be shot in the course of a regular movement substantially tangential to the plane of the lens of the acquisiton apparatus. That step is followed by a step (S31) of forming pairs of images from the sequence of images, each pair being formed on the basis of a predetermined temporal distance then a step of calibrating (S32) the images of the pairs formed, so as to improve the visual correspondence between the two images; Finally, a stereoscopic signal is constructed (S33) from the pairs so calibrated. • Publication number: 20050280704
Abstract: A video monitoring device, comprising: receiving means for receiving a video stream from a video source; manually operable means for setting a detection mode among at least two modes, the detection mode being solely set for the video source; motion detection means for detecting motion in the video stream in accordance with the detection mode set by said manually operable means, said motion detection means obtaining and computing a set of images from the video stream according to the detection mode; and output means for outputting the result regarding to the motion detected by said detection means.
