Exemplary membranes and methods of the invention rely on relatively thin, flexible composite layers to provide impact resistance while yet facilitating seaming between adjacent installed membranes and minimizing formation of wrinkles, leakage channels, and “fish mouth” openings, particularly at substrate details or other surface irregularities.

    Abstract: A pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) composition and method of use across a wide operable temperature window. The PSA composition includes a triblock copolymer rubber with relatively low diblock content, an aliphatic tackifier, an aromatic tackifier, and an oil-based plasticizer. The combination of components results in the PSA having a phase-separated morphology, where the PSA includes two domains that do not mix with each other. This morphology’ results in superior performance of the PSA across a wide range of temperatures, such that separate adhesives for low temperatures and high temperatures are no longer required.

    Abstract: An integrated air barrier assembly is provided as an integral product in which a fastener-sealing layer is secured between opposed surfaces of a board and an anti-blocking facing layer. The assembly exhibits good fastener sealability, including for larger self-drilling screws. The anti-blocking facing layer maintains the fastener-sealing layer inward of the environment and prevents blocking or sticking of the assembly when stacked. In some embodiments, the anti-blocking facing layer can be a metal film or foil, which can reflect heat away from the fastener-sealing layer, thereby maintaining a lower temperature on the fastener-sealing layer. In some embodiments, the board can be an insulating layer or wood layer. The assembly can be readily installed in a single step during construction.

The adhesive composition comprises at least one pressure sensitive adhesive and a reactive adhesive dispersed therein, wherein said reactive adhesive forms a blend or a semi or fully interpenetrating network or a reinforcing phase throughout said pressure sensitive adhesive, said mat having a thickness defined between a first side and a second side opposite said first side, and at least one release layer removably secured to one of said first side or said second side. Embodiments include application of the adhesive by providing an adhesive mat having a back release liner and a top release liner opposite the back release liner, removing the back release liner, laying the mat on the substrate such as a floor, applying pressure to the mat to ensure good contact between the mat and the substrate, removing the top release liner, and positioning the tile onto the adhesive mat.
