    Abstract: A lid for foodstuff containers includes a shell shaped so that it can be fitted over an opening in a container, and a PVC-free seal, bearing an inscription, attached to the bottom of the shell and able to seal the lid to the container; the seal is applied to the bottom of the lid by applying adhesive paint between the bottom and the seal; this paint which can be used to control the adherence of the seal to the bottom, consists of a mixture of synthetic resins and hydrocarbons with added metallic pigment; a film bearing the inscription is applied over the paint, said inscription made using an ink which has a given chemical-physical affinity with the material used for the seal; it is, therefore, easy to detach the seal from the bottom of the lid upon which the inscription is clearly reproduced.
