    Abstract: An apparatus for lifting the presser foot of a sewing machine prevents the bar guide bracket from rotating outward even when the presser foot is unintentionally raised due to a thick workpiece. As an additional safety interlock, the presser bar guide bracket is prevented from dropping down when the presser foot is rotated to provide space for changing the needle or setting the thread.
