The method includes converting a channel matrix; estimating a transmission symbol; and calculating a likelihood of each bit being a “1” and a “0”, respectively, of the estimated transmission symbol using a basis conversion matrix. The system includes a transmitter and receiver for transmitting and receiving, respectively, a combined signal according to the method.
