  • Patent number: 4716002
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of producing a flame-retardant acrylic polymer by polymerizing, in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator, a vinyl monomer containing acrylonitrile in an amount of more than 75 weight %, in an aqueous medium in which is present a halogen-containing polymer latex substantially free from an emulsifier. The acrylic polymer can provide flame-retardant shaped products, especially fibers, which have no problems in the operation of spinning, transparency, gloss, dyed color clearness, etc.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 28, 1986
Date of Patent: December 29, 1987
    Assignee: Japan Exlan Company Limited
    Inventors: Masaaki Fujimatsu, Toshiyuki Kobashi

  • Patent number: 4205037
Abstract: Acrylic synthetic fibers highly resistant to pilling and having good dyeability can be produced by specifying the composition of the acrylic polymer, the condition of the primary stretching step, the internal water content of the water-swollen gel fibers, the conditions of the steps of the drying-compacting, secondary stretching and relaxing heat treatment.

  • Patent number: 4020199
Abstract: Process for imparting an animal hairlike hand to acrylic fibers by mixing a silicone resin and a polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl phosphate while adding water thereto to form an emulsion of weak acidity, applying the emulsion to swollen gelly acrylic fibers, drying the resultant fibers and applying a spinning oil to the dried fibers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 24, 1975
Date of Patent: April 26, 1977
    Assignee: Japan Exlan Company Limited
    Inventors: Katsuaki Nomura, Masaaki Fujimatsu
