  • Patent number: 5413653
Abstract: A green tire forming apparatus comprises a belt forming mechanism (1), a transferring mechanism (2), a green tire forming mechanism (3), and bead setting mechanisms (4), (5); wherein the bead setting mechanisms (4), (5) have a function of pushing ply turn-up bladders, segments (24a) holding a belt-tread assembly (6) are driven by hydraulic cylinders (24b), and a green tire take-out mechanism (9) is added to the transferring mechanism (2). Accordingly, the number of elements required can be minimized, so that the structure of the apparatus can be simplified. In addition, when a green tire forming is carried out with the apparatus, production of defective tire due to undesirable expansion of the outer diameters of belt and tread can be prevented, and also green tire take-out can be carried out efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5322587
Abstract: A green tire forming apparatus including a belt forming mechanism, a transferring mechanism, a green tire forming mechanism, and bead setting mechanisms. The bead setting mechanisms function to carry beads to their designated positions on the green tire forming apparatus and to push ply turn-up bladders as the green tire is formed. The transferring mechanism transfers one of the beads and a belt assembly on the green tire forming apparatus thereby simplifying the device's structure. As a result, the number of elements required for forming a tire can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 5310328
Abstract: A green tire forming apparatus has a driving section (2) and a forming section (1) supported by a shaft extended from the driving section (2). A center former section (10) of the forming section (1) has a pair of first former elements (11A), (11B) and a pair of second former elements (12A), (12B) arranged at the outside of the first former elements so as to be movable in an axial direction. The total width of the center former section can be shortened to about one fourth of the maximum. According to the apparatus, during green carcass formation, the width of the center former section (10) can be set as the required one, and during toroidal shaping, the width can be shortened to about one fourth of the maximum, whereby a distance (BW.sub.3) between beads can be made close to that of a metal mold. As a result, generation of wrinkles during tire formation is largely decreased and tire quality can be improved.
