  • Patent number: 5843490
Abstract: Die for a molding machine for molding a molten resin into a desired shape including hollow articles, coated articles, pipes, films and sheets. The die includes a stationary outer die with an internal wall, a stationary inner die having an external wall, with the internal and external walls defining a resin flow channel. Protrusions for eliminating line marks in product molded in the die are provided on the external wall of the inner die, or the internal wall of the outer die, or on both the internal wall of the outer die and external wall of the inner die An inlet is provided for introducing molten resin into the flow channel and a die lip is located towards the downstream end of the flow channel. The protrusions extend into the flow channel between the inlet and the die lip, and do not contact the opposite facing wall.
