  • Patent number: 11427776
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing a biofuel that allows an animal/vegetable fat/oil raw material containing a free fatty acid to react with a lower alcohol in the presence of a solid acid catalyst, in which the consumption of the lower alcohol is reduced and the free fatty acid and the lower alcohol are selectively esterified to reform the animal/vegetable fat/oil. In this method, as a solid acid catalyst is used a catalyst selected from an SiO2/Al2O3 solid acid catalyst, an SiO2/Al2O3 solid acid catalyst with aluminum being partially introduced into mesoporous silica, an Al2O3/B2O3 solid acid catalyst, and a sulfated zirconia solid acid catalyst, with a molar ratio of the free fatty acid and the lower alcohol of 1 to 6.

  • Patent number: 6532713
Abstract: A joint structure for joining a composite beam and a column is disclosed. The composite beam includes an I-beam and a pair of wooden members. The joint structure includes a mortise pin provided on the composite beam and protruding beyond an outer surface of one of the wooden members. The mortise pin is provided with a through-hole at a predetermined position. A bottom hole is provided at a bottom surface of the column in a manner that the bottom hole is adapted to receive the mortise pin. A horizontal hole is provided at a side face of the column at a position corresponding to the through-hole of the mortise pin. The composite beam is connected with the column by first inserting the mortise pin into the bottom hole of the column and then inserting a locking pin into the through-hole of the mortise pin and the horizontal hole of the column such that joint of the composite beam and the column is firmly secured. A method of joining a composite beam and a column is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5965448
Abstract: A flow injection analytical apparatus which is capable of continuously performing flow analysis of a sample, produces precipitates during the flow through a capillary. The precipitation separation type continuous flow analytical apparatus has a sample injection portion, a reagent addition portion and an analytical portion which are integrally communicated by a measurement pipeline to form a measurement system. A precipitant addition portion and a filtration portion are provided between the sample injection portion and the reagent addition portion in order to continuously perform production and filtration of precipitates during flow of the sample solution to the reagent addition portion.

  • Patent number: 5603303
Abstract: A high pressure fuel supply pump comprises a cylinder, the upper part of which is exposed to the outside of a head cover that is a part of the engine housing, and is fixed to the head cover by means of bolts, not shown. The remaining portion of the high pressure fuel supply pump is received in an accommodation hole of the head cover. A pump cam 111 is mounted to a valve camshaft for driving a suction/exhaust valve and drives the high pressure fuel supply pump. The use of an exclusive shaft for pump driving only, a bearing member therefor, and the like is rendered unnecessary, which enables a reduction in the number of parts employed. Further, since the timing with which the pressurized fuel is discharged is controlled through the operation of a solenoid valve, the precision with which fuel injection is controlled is improved.
