  • Patent number: 11897337
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving the brightness of a transparent display are disclosed herein. One embodiment collects ambient light using an array of Fresnel lenses disposed on an external surface of a vehicle; collects internal light from the vehicle's headlights; filters the ambient light and the internal light to produce filtered ambient light and filtered internal light; generates primary-source light using a light-emitting-diode (LED) light source; and injects, into a transparent edge-lit liquid crystal waveguide display deployed in at least a portion of a window of the vehicle, the primary-source light, the filtered ambient light, and the filtered internal light in a color-synchronized manner. The filtered ambient light and the filtered internal light improve the brightness of the transparent edge-lit liquid crystal waveguide display.

  • Publication number: 20230402049
Abstract: A microphone system causes a microphone disposed in an acoustic space to collect sound, classifies a sound included in a sound data related to the sound collected by the microphone into a type of speech sound of a human present in the acoustic space and a type of noise that is a sound other than the speech sound based on a value related to a reflection sound reflected in the acoustic space, and outputs data related to the classified speech sound to a speech recognition device.

  • Patent number: 11807167
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving the brightness of a transparent display are disclosed herein. One embodiment collects ambient light using an array of metasurface lenses disposed on an external surface of a vehicle; collects internal light from the vehicle's headlights; filters the ambient light and the internal light to produce filtered ambient light and filtered internal light; generates primary-source light using a light-emitting-diode (LED) light source; and injects, into a transparent edge-lit liquid crystal waveguide display deployed in at least a portion of a window of the vehicle, the primary-source light, the filtered ambient light, and the filtered internal light in a color-synchronized manner. The filtered ambient light and the filtered internal light improve the brightness of the transparent edge-lit liquid crystal waveguide display.

  • Patent number: 11747541
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving the brightness of a transparent display are disclosed herein. One embodiment collects ambient light using an array of diffraction gratings disposed on an external surface of a vehicle to produce filtered ambient light; collects internal light from the vehicle's headlights; filters the internal light to produce filtered internal light; generates primary-source light using a light-emitting-diode (LED) light source; and injects, into a transparent edge-lit liquid crystal waveguide display deployed in at least a portion of a window of the vehicle, the primary-source light, the filtered ambient light, and the filtered internal light in a color-synchronized manner. The filtered ambient light and the filtered internal light improve the brightness of the transparent edge-lit liquid crystal waveguide display.

  • Publication number: 20170213526
Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a processing device receiving video signals of a video image by an image capturing device and processes an image of a frame in a viewable state based on the video signals to generate display signals; a display device receiving the display signals from the processing device and continuously displays, on a screen, images of a plurality of frames included in the display signals to display the video image; a setting device setting, for each frame, identification information to identify successive frames among the plurality of frames included in the display signals; and a detection device comparing the identification information of one frame of the image displayed on the display device with the identification information of a next one frame of the image displayed on the display device, and detecting that the screen of the display device freezes when both of the identification information are identical.

  • Patent number: 6333608
Abstract: A driving apparatus for vehicular display unit which can adequately perform dimming control in both daytime display condition and nighttime display condition. A controller changes a charging time of EL elements by changing a pulse width of a PC bar signal based on a day/night switching signal D/N in a scanning signal generator. When a display condition of El panel is switched from daytime display condition to nighttime display condition, the controller changes a driving frequency in a HSYNC bar signal generator. The controller also changes the driving frequency during the daytime display period when it is required to dim at multi-steps with relatively small changing.
