  • Publication number: 20020057703
Abstract: A large volume of digital media home information output from each of audio, visual, computer and communication (AVCC) apparatuses is transmitted to a digital media home information network at a high data speed and is received by one AVCC apparatus. Also, a small volume of digital environment home information output from each of self-management apparatuses such as an energy sensor, a security sensor and a health case sensor is transmitted to a digital environment home information network at a low data speed and is received by a digital information transmitting/receiving and protocol converting unit. In this unit, A protocol of the digital environment home information in the digital environment home information network is converted into that in the digital media home information network, and the data speed of the digital environment home information in the digital environment home information network is changed to that in the digital media home information network.

  • Publication number: 20020051082
Abstract: When transmitting encoded video data and audio data, a transmitter 201 also transmits a decoding method 107 generated by decoding-method generation means 203. In the case of a receiver 202, decoding control means 111 controls decoding means 208 in accordance with a received decoding method 113 and thereby, decodes video data and audio data 115. Thus, it is unnecessary for the receiver 202 to previously prepare all of a plurality of decoding methods and the transmitter 201 does not need to encode video data or audio data in accordance with the decoding method owned by the receiver 202.

  • Publication number: 20020015442
Abstract: A digital transmitter-receiver comprises a receiving unit for receiving digital data transmitted in accordance with a first transmission protocol, a transcoder for converting the received digital data to data in accordance with a second transmission protocol, and a transmitting unit for transmitting output data from the transcoder to a terminal apparatus. The transmitting unit monitors a transmission state and informs the transcoder of a monitoring result. Based on the monitoring result, the transcoder changes data rate.

  • Publication number: 20020010843
Abstract: N_Port_Name information capable of distinctly identifying a host computer has seen set in a microprocessor 42 of a storage controller 40 prior to start-up of host computers 10, 20, 30; upon startup of the host computers 10, 20, 30, when the storage controller 40 receives a frame issued, then the microprocessor 42 operates to perform comparison for determining whether the N_Port_Name information stored in the frame has been already set in the microprocessor 42 and registered to the N_Port_Name list within a control table maintained. When such comparison results in match, then continue execution of processing based on the frame instruction; if comparison results in failure of match, then reject any request.

  • Publication number: 20010022833
Abstract: An X-ray image receiver is supported through a guide mechanism on a support bench. The guide mechanism consists of a pair of first guide members, a pair of first sliding members, a pair of second sliding members, a pair of third sliding members, a pair of second guide members, and a rotation link member. The first guide members, which are disposed opposite to each other, extend on top of the support bench along the shorter side of the tabletop. The first sliding members are slidably installed on the inside of the first guide members. The second sliding members are slidably installed on the inside of the first sliding members. The third sliding members are secured to the sides of the X-ray image receiver. The second guide members are installed on the outside of the third sliding members. The rotation link member rotatably links the second guide members with the second sliding members. Using a lock lever, the third sliding members are locked so that they do not slide with respect to the second guide members.

  • Publication number: 20010013987
Abstract: At least three heads are mounted on a rotary drum. Between the first and third heads which are located in close proximity to each other and have different azimuth angles, a minute height difference is formed in the rotation shaft direction of the rotary drum. Signals of a plurality of data rates are recorded and reproduced by using the first and second heads or the first and third heads. Two heads having the same azimuth angle are disposed on the rotary drum so as to be opposed each other at a central angle of 180°. In search speed reproduction, search data are reproduced by the two heads. Tracks are divided in the unit of plural tracks so as to form track sets. Search data areas of each track set are disposed at a position of each track which is separated from the edge of a tape by a predetermined distance. In search speed reproduction, the phases of the tracks and the heads are controlled, and all effective data of the search data areas are reproduced by plural scans of the heads.
