  • Patent number: 5843255
Abstract: A connecting pad of a magnetic head element is bonded to a signal conductor of a supporting beam. As a result of the bonding, the magnetic head element is mechanically coupled to the supporting beam and the connecting pad is electrically connected to the signal conductor. Also an auxiliary pad of the magnetic head element is bonded to the signal conductor. This bonding improves the mechanical coupling strength of the magnetic head element to the supporting beam. When the magnetic head element is to be bonded to the supporting beam, one of the pads is bonded to the signal conductor, and thereafter the other pad is bonded to the signal conductor. During the process of the latter bonding, a groove which is previously disposed in the signal conductor blocks heat given for the bonding from being transmitted to the former bonding portion in which bonding has been already completed, thereby preventing the bonding of the former bonding portion from being broken.

  • Patent number: 5826980
Abstract: A non-contact thermometer uses a pyroelectric infrared sensor which makes it possible to measure temperatures of an object having a large area required to be measured, and at a plurality of points. The thermometer sets up a reference position without using a position detecting switch and also improves the accuracy of measuring the temperature due to its increased amount of incident infrared rays transmitted as a result of reducing the motor speed and extending the time of measurement at the point where infrared rays of the object to be measured is to be detected. The thermometer's stepping motor is fed with its operation step input and brought to a stop at the reference exciting phase of the motor which has been set up in advance. The whole measurement operation thereafter is arranged to proceed, starting from the above exciting phase serving as the reference, at which point the motor was brought to a stop.

  • Patent number: 5676304
Abstract: A method of bonding a contact-type thin film magnetic head element to a beam for supporting the head element in a contact-type thin film magnetic head during a process of producing the magnetic head is disclosed. A connecting pad of the magnetic head element is made contact with a signal conductor of the supporting beam. Then, a vibration energy of an ultrasonic wave is applied to the contact portion so that the surfaces of the components in the contact portion are caused to diffuse into each other. As a result, a state in which the connecting pad is mechanically coupled and electrically connected to the signal conductor is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5468210
Abstract: Disclosed is a process of thermal treatment in a tissue comprising embedding an implant element in an organism and externally applying a high frequency magnetic field characterized in that the implant element comprises a magnetic exothermic member partially or completely covered with a non-magnetic insulating film.According to the present invention, the temperature range required in the process of medical treatment in tissue (42.degree. C. to 43.degree. C.) can be more effectively maintained compared with a conventional magnetic exothermic member. Because of the complete coverage with an insulating film, a magnetic exothermic member having a higher Curie temperature than that of the conventional magnetic exothermic member can also be employed. The magnetic exothermic member can provide an isotropic exothermic characteristic when the powders are molded and the components of the magnetic exothermic member never dissolve in a living body.

  • Patent number: 4555286
Abstract: An adhesive filler apparatus is disclosed comprising an injector and a support portion, the injector comprising a pressure buffer tube made of an elastic material and check valves adjacent both ends of the pressure buffer tube, the support portion comprising a base member and a projection. The adhesive filler apparatus disclosed is used as follows: A hose connected to a pump is coupled to one end of the pressure buffer tube so that the nozzle of the hose presses the check valve to clear its closure, allowing an adhesive to be fed in the pressure buffer tube. The hose is disconnected from the fed and swollen tube, causing the check valve to close the end of the tube. The fed injector is coupled to the support portion fixed on the crack developed in a concrete structure, etc., whereupon the projection on the support portion presses the check valve to open the end of the tube, thereby allowing the adhesive in the tube to be filled in the crack by gradual and continuous contraction of the elastic tube.
